ACHIEVING DREAMS

So here goes my first blog as Top of the Clops Sponsored Rider. Well where to start lots have happened since the beginning of 2017 with the purchase of Ruxton Contessa and having lots of success with her. In April we headed to the Blue Chip Winter Showjumping Championship at Hartpury Arena with Tess and Doris. Day 1 so Tess coming 4th in Horsequest Open and Doris just going for experience, day 2 was Championship day for Doris in Discovery Final just having a couple of novice mistakes and Tess in Ariat Final which was a big step up and biggest course to date having a couple down. Day 4 was Haygain qualifying Round 1 with Tess jumping double clear to finish 2nd and day 5 Haygain Qualifying Round 2 and Tess producing the goods again jumping double clear and 3rd to finish 2nd over the 2 rounds on points and qualifying for the Final. In the final jumping clear in first round and proving the jump off was going to be fast, put just wasn’t our luck to have the fastest 4 faults to finish 6th but super pleased with how well both horses jumped and gaining some great results.

Also in April received an email and phone call from the British Showjumping to say myself and Tess have qualified for the Bronze League Winter Final at Addington Manor. We decided to go and jumped a good clear round in first round but had an uncharacteristic 2 fences down. But since then we have various 1st and places in a number of classes. On May Bank holiday we went to North Somerset Agricultural Show which when it came to our classes then thunder and lightning started and the heavens opened just as I went into the ring, but the day finished good winning the 1.05 open and also qualifying for the Jumping on Grass Final at Dorset County Show in September 2017.

Currently trying to keep gaining points to stay within the top 15 on the Bronze League to qualify for the Semi-finals in August 2017 at Keysoe, which was fantastic to see on 06th May we are currently top of the Bronze League Summer Final. This is a chance to try and qualify for HOYS which I have always dreamed about qualifying for so will be working hard and trying to achieve my dream.

We also have lots coming up in next few months with British Novice and Discovery Second Rounds to qualify for British Showjumping Nationals at Stoneleigh in August, Scope Festival of Showjumping in August and Dobson & Horrell Amateur Finals in November.
