Useful for horses with a high head carriage as it encourages the head to be lowered.

The Mullen is a straight bar bit with ergonomic shaping, and is a very mild mouthpiece, only applying pressure on the tongue and lips with minimal pressure on the bars of the mouth, so is often used for horses with a soft mouth.

The Hanging Cheek is often used for horses with a high head carriage, using gentle poll pressure to encourage them to lower their heads. May prove good for horses slightly too strong in a snaffle. The double joint spreads the pressure more evenly over the tongue and bars of the mouth, with the roller in the middle giving your horse something to play with, encouraging mouthing and acceptance.
